Sustainable Sculptures is a project that conveys concerns for climate change and the specific actions taken to live more sustainably. Recycled, found objects, and ecofriendly materials are used to create functional sculptures that require consistent care, provide sustenance, and can easily dematerialize back into the earth. The aim is to make small yet meaningful changes in life that can add up over time to reduce harm on an individual basis. Although the artist continues to reflect on and reimagine a green future while gardening and reconnecting with the earth, the project ultimately demonstrates the significant limitations to create meaningful change as an individual and, more importantly, the urgent need to organize collectively to bring about truly green and just policy changes.
